This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) constitutes a legally binding and exhaustive exposition of the principles, practices, and methodologies employed by logictone (hereinafter referred to as “the Service,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) in connection with the collection, retention, utilization, storage, and dissemination of any and all data, information, and content, whether directly provided by the end user (“you” or “User”) or generated by the system, through the utilization of our text-to-speech interface and ancillary features (collectively, the “Tool”). By accessing, browsing, and/or using the Service, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth herein, as well as any amendments or modifications that may be incorporated by reference from time to time.

1. Scope and Interpretation

1.1 This Policy governs all information practices related to the Service, which includes, but is not limited to, the direct input of textual data for conversion purposes, the associated functionalities such as word, character, and line count metrics, locally stored favorites and conversion histories, and the manipulation of parameters including language selection, speed adjustment, pitch modulation, and accent variations (collectively, the “Functionalities”). For purposes of clarity, any reference to “data” shall mean all such information, regardless of format or medium, including data processed or stored solely on the local device (hereinafter “Local Data”).

1.2 Terms used in this Policy that are not defined herein shall have the meanings ascribed to them in prevailing statutory, regulatory, or case law, or in other sections of this Policy as contextually appropriate.

2. Data Collection and Local Processing

2.1 The Service is engineered to operate primarily via client-side (i.e., local) processing. Consequently, the textual content, preference settings, and conversion history entered or generated during the use of the Tool are stored exclusively within the local storage environment of the User’s web browser. Under no circumstances are such data transmitted to, processed, or stored on any remote server operated by us or third parties, except as explicitly stated in this Policy.

2.2 Notwithstanding the foregoing, non-personally identifiable technical information such as browser type, operating system version, and usage statistics may be automatically collected through the utilization of cookies or similar tracking mechanisms, solely for the purpose of aggregating anonymized and statistical data regarding the operation and performance of the Service. Such data is aggregated and does not identify individual users.

3. Purpose and Use of Collected Data

3.1 The information stored locally, including but not limited to User preferences (e.g., favorite language selections indicated via the heart icon), conversion histories, and text metrics (e.g., word, character, and line counts), is employed solely to enhance the User’s interactive experience with the Service by enabling personalized configuration and the retention of User-specific settings on a per-browser basis.

3.2 Local Data shall be utilized exclusively for immediate processing purposes, such as facilitating the text-to-speech conversion in real-time using the User’s browser-based TTS engine, and to furnish the User with a responsive interface that reflects historical usage, provided that such data remains within the bounds of the originating local storage environment.

4. Limitations on Data Portability and Inter-Browser Consistency

4.1 It is expressly acknowledged that due to the decentralized nature of Local Data storage, any favorites, settings, or historical records preserved by the Service are intrinsically tied to the particular browser instance and device employed during usage. As such, migration of such data across disparate browsers, devices, or following a complete clearance of local storage is not supported by the Service and is solely the responsibility of the User.

4.2 Variations in the set of supported languages or accents available for text-to-speech conversion may occur as a function of the inherent capabilities of the User’s browser and underlying operating system. The Service disclaims any and all liability for inconsistencies or limitations in language or accent availability that may result from such external dependencies.

5. Data Security and Retention

5.1 While the Service is designed to eschew the centralized collection or processing of personal data, the security of the Local Data is contingent upon the security protocols and configurations implemented by the User on their individual device and browser. The Service shall not be held liable for any unauthorized access, alteration, or deletion of Local Data that may arise from deficiencies in the User’s local environment.

5.2 The retention of Local Data persists for as long as it is not manually purged by the User or rendered inaccessible due to modifications in browser settings, software updates, or alterations in device configuration. Users are advised to maintain appropriate local security measures to safeguard such data.

6. Third-Party Dependencies and External Links

6.1 The Service leverages the inherent text-to-speech functionalities provided by the User’s browser, which is subject to its own terms of service and privacy policies. The Service expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for the manner in which such third-party systems handle or process data.

6.2 Any links to external websites or third-party resources provided within the Service are offered solely for informational purposes. The inclusion of any such links does not imply endorsement or an assumption of responsibility by the Service for the privacy practices or content of the linked resources.

7. Amendments and Modifications

7.1 The Service reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, amend, or revise this Policy at any time without prior notice. Any such modifications shall be effective immediately upon the posting of the revised Policy on the Service’s website. Continued use of the Service following any such changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

7.2 Users are encouraged to periodically review this Policy to remain apprised of any updates or modifications. In the event of a material change to this Policy, we shall endeavor to provide conspicuous notice within the Service interface.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

8.1 This Policy shall be governed by, construed, and enforced in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service is provided, without regard to conflicts of law principles. By using the Service, the User consents to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in connection with any disputes arising under this Policy.

8.2 Any disputes, controversies, or claims arising out of or in connection with this Policy shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be achieved amicably, the parties agree to submit the dispute to arbitration in accordance with the applicable rules of arbitration in the relevant jurisdiction.

9. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer of Warranties

9.1 TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THE SERVICE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9.2 IN NO EVENT SHALL THE SERVICE, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
